LWC Swimming hosts CU and Thomas More Saturday

The men's and women's swimming teams are back in the pool Saturday, Jan. 18, at noon CT to face Campbellsville (Ky.) and Thomas More (Ky.) at the Holloway Center Natatorium.

Five seniors will be recognized and honored prior to the start of the meet.



The No. 7-ranked Blue Raider men's swimming team (6-3) returns to the pool after falling 166-88 to No. 4 Loyola (La.) on Dec. 17. The men won three events and swam three national A-standard times at the dual meet.

The 200-yard medley relay of William Thilwind, Reece Kincaid, Bryce Rice, and Tyler King swam a national A-standard time of one minute 37.89 seconds to secure a second-place finish. The 200 free relay grouping of Ricky Dungan, Bryce Rice, James de Goede and Jordan Schaffer also tallied a runner-up finish with an A-cut time (1:29.87). Thi\0xAD\0xAD\0xAD\0xAD\0xADlwind swam the team's lone individual A-cut time paired with a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (53.40).

De Goede won the 200 freestyle, touching the wall in 1:48.83. Dungan picked up his win in the 500 freestyle by swimming a 5:02.38. Kincaid was victorious in the 200 butterfly (2:00.74).

Saturday marks the 16th meeting between Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville's men's programs in a dual meet, with the Blue Raiders posting a perfect record of 15-0. The matchup earlier in the season resulted in a 173-73 Lindsey Wilson victory. LWC met TMU in a dual meet earlier in the season that resulted in a 151-20 Blue Raider win.

The No. 7-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team (7-2) returns to action after defeating No. 6-ranked Loyola 127-113 on Dec. 17. The Blue Raiders notched seven first-place finishes in the competition while recording seven national A-cuts.

Jessica Macdonald swam national A standard times to win the 100 freestyle (54.73), the 200 freestyle (2:01.23) and the 200 individual medley (2:15.82). Carlene Taylor swam an A-cut in the 200 freestyle to finish runner-up, touching the wall in 2:02.41and won the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.94. Narjiss Bourbouh won the 100 butterfly (1:01.79) and recorded an A-cut time to win the 200 butterfly finishing in 2:19.84.

Macdonald, Narjiss Bourbouh, Sarah Hahn and Natalie Lohman swam an A standard time of 1:56.81 to win the 200 medley relay. The 200 freestyle relay grouping of Nissrine Bourbouh, Taylor, Annissa Koekemoer and Jaye Farthing earned a second-place finish with the A-cut time of 1:46.52.

Saturday marks the 20th meeting between the Blue Raiders and Tiger's women's programs in a dual meet. LWC posts an impressive 19-0 all-time record. This season's earlier meeting resulted in a 190-60 Lindsey Wilson victory. The Blue Raiders defeated the Saints 139-18 earlier in the season.

Lindsey Wilson's meet against Campbellsville and Thomas More begins at noon CT on Saturday at the Holloway Center Natatorium.
