Alleged shoplifting attempt thwarted By Linda Waggener as reported to ColumbiaMagazine.com by an innocent bystander (Names of individuals and store withheld from this report because of its total unofficiality) A white male exited the men's room of a BigBox store moving swiftly toward an exit, appearing as if he could possibly be hiding merchandise under his loose fitting clothing. A third shift employee started toward the suspicious subject whose attire was complimented by a hoodie and reflector sunglasses with price tags blowing in the wind. The subject clutching his front was reported to have been strangely shaped like the cartoon character Sponge Bob Square Pants. Meanwhile, a uniformed Kentucky State Trooper, stopping at the late hour to buy his third-shift lunch, saw the store employee jogging toward the subject in question and raced with him. The employee and the Trooper caught up with Hoody man. Trooper: "where do you think you are going?" Hoodie: "to the restroom." Trooper: "what were you going to do there?" Hoodie: "going in there to lock you out." They escorted Hoodie Man into the restroom and found a nest where he had disrobed and put on all new unpaid-for men's clothing, including the hoodie and sunglasses. They also found an empty box from the 32-inch flat screen television which turned out to be what the subject was clutching tightly underneath the oversized sweatshirt and loose jogging pants - thus having given him the appearance of Sponge Bob Square Pants. Hoodie Man was placed in the custody of law enforcement, the employee got to deal with all the damaged merchandise per store policy, but we still don't know if the Trooper ever got his lunch.
