Walter Raymond (Ray) Wilcoxson, Jr., 77, Green Co., KY (1942-2020)

Mr. Walter Raymond "Ray" Wilcoxson, Jr., of Green County passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020. He was 77 years old.

The funeral services for Mr. Walter Raymond "Ray" Wilcoxson, Jr. will be conducted at 10amCT on Monday, January 13, 2020, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with burial in the Horse Cave City Cemetery. Bro. Lee Warf, Bro. Thomas Metcalfe, and Bro. Kevin Denton will be officiating.

Graveside services will be held at NoonCT on Monday at the Horse Cave City Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 3pmCT until 8pmCT on Sunday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT on Monday until time of the funeral services.


Mr. Walter Raymond "Ray" Wilcoxson, Jr. of Green County, Kentucky, son of the late Walter Raymond Wilcoxson, Sr. and Nettie Pearl Marcum Wilcoxson, was born on Saturday, April 4, 1942 in Barren County, Kentucky and departed this life on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at his home. He was 77 years, nine months, and five days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, formerly a member of the Horse Cave Baptist Church for many years, and also a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church in Greensburg. He was a bookkeeper for Bale Farms and Bale Warehouses for many years, and was also a licensed Real Estate Agent and apprentice auctioneer.

Survived by his wife of 16 years, Phyllis Lewis Wilcoxson of Green County, having united in marriage on February 7, 2004. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Williamson Wilcoxson on February 24, 2002.

Other survivors include his children and their spouses: Angela and Dennis Vaught of Franklin, Chip and Christie Wilcoxson of Horse Cave, Sundown and Larry Clark of Green County, Spring Squires and her fiance, Robbie Milby both of Summersville, and Shane and Tori Price of Dry Ridge; 10 grandchildren: Chandler Wilcoxson, Addie Wilcoxson, Kara Wilcoxson, Justin Vaughn, Hilary Vaughn, Colton Clark, Caton Clark, Meghan Squires, Michaela Price, and Kimberlyn Price; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Wilcoxson was also preceded in death by a brother: Joe Dee Wilcoxson.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Alzheimer's Association, which can be made at the funeral home.
