ACSO: Liberty Road single-vehicle accident By Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriff's Office On Wednesday, January 8, 2019, around 3:30amCT, the Adair County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle accident with injury. A preliminary investigation determined that a 2008 Chrysler was west bound, operated by Nelson Burton, 30, of Columbia. Burton lost control of his vehicle, skidding sideways off the roadway. The vehicle then struck a tree on the driver's side, and then an earth embankment on the passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle came to rest upright in a creek. Burton was air lifted from the scene by Air Evac to University of Kentucky Hospital for his injuries. Deputy Derek Padgett is the investigating officer. He was assisted at the scene by the Adair County Fire Department, Knifley Fire Department, and Adair County EMS. This story was posted on 2020-01-08 12:29:19
