Christmas Eve program will be held at Rosenwald School

The Adair Heritage Association met for the last time in 2019 on December 16 at the Public Library.

The report on the historic Rosenwald Santa Fee/Flatwoods School project was first on the agenda. Sammy Hughes said it looks awesome and a Christmas event program is planned at the school at 7pmCT, December 24, 2019. Discussions were held on the best way to heat the school and the Adair Heritage Association propane heaters were offered.

Everyone agreed the renovation to this stage couldn’t have happened in one short year without the Band of Brothers donating approximately $15,000 in professional labor.

Present were: Mike Watson, President, and Sammy Hughes, Cheryl Tillery, Rodney White, Susan Loy, Linda Waggener, Roger Meadows, Jane Grant, Ted Caldwell, Ellen Zornes, Linda and Dick Fitzpatrick, Lee Ann Jessee, Phil Hanna, Bruce Loveall, Carrie Wolfe and Karen Wolfe.

All members, friends, and interested parties in preservation and the history of our town and county are cordially invited. For more information call the Library at 270-384-2472.

The Adair Heritage Association held its last meeting of the year in the Library and the first item on the agenda was the celebration of the restoration project at the historic Rosenwald School, the only one still standing in the county. The group sends its thanks to all who volunteered time and materials, promotions and food for workers - especially the Columbia Christian Church Band of Brothers who donated some $15,000 in professional labor. A special service is planned there for Christmas Eve at 7pmCT.
