Letter: Memories of Wadlow visit

Phillip W Coffey writes:
My Dad, Elroy Coffey, told me that he and several people from the Keltner Ridge area hitched a ride in a pick-up truck to Columbia to see the 'big man'. I recall from Dad's story that one of the adults that road with him was Raymond Keltner.

Mr. Ralph Hurt, who was a very tall man, tried without success to remove a hat from Mr. Wadlow's head. Reportedly, one of Dad's cousins, upon being asked if he was going to see the 'big man,' responded, 'Dad would not let me get out of work if Jesus was there.' --Phillip
