Creepy, Crawly, Scaly, and Slimy Critters Program at ACPC

By Laura Marcum

The Adair County Primary Center recently had several interesting guests. Brad Reynolds from Real Science Programs shared his program entitled "Creepy, Crawly, Scaly, and Slimy Critters". This program compared characteristics, adaptations, and life cycles of vertebrates and invertebrates using live animals. It also examined how scientists group and classify animals based on how closely related and alike various animals are.

The kids were amazed with his animals including: a scorpion, hissing cockroaches, Hermit crab, bullfrog, tiger salamander, salamander larva, snapping turtle, box turtle, monitor lizard, boa constrictor, hedgehog, a American alligator head, and a 20 foot long python skin.

This event was sponsored by the Family Resource Center.
