Edna Myrtle York, 94, Jamestown, KY (1925-2019)

Edna Myrtle York of Jamestown passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. She was 94 years old.

The funeral service for Edna Myrtle York will be held at 2pmCT on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Barry Bradshaw and Bro. Tony Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the Samuel York Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 9:30amCT on Sunday to 2pmCT on Sunday.


She was born June 25, 1925 in Russell County to the late Arvil & Adell Lawless Hill.

She was a homemaker and a member of Griders Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel York and 2 children; Linda Earlene Coffey, and Phillip Wayne York

Survivors include
  • Four children: Elvis (Judy) York, Jamestown, Preston (Delphia) York, Russell Springs, Carol (Danny) Brumley, Bryan, Ky, and Rocky Lane (Priscilla) York, Cincinnati, OH
  • A host of grandchildren great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren
  • Three brothers: Ewell (Ilene) Hill, Russell Springs, Thomas A. Hill, Jr., Jamestown, and William (Faetta) Hill, Jamestown
  • A sister: Eva Bunch, Jamestown
Pallbearers: Eric Brumley, Chris York, Tony York, Dustin York, Dale Coffey, Bryan York
