ACSO: Pair arrested on burglary charges By Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriff's Office On Sunday, November 3, 2019, at 6:42pmCT, the Adair County Sheriff's Office received a call from 911 that a homeowner in the Fairplay Community had returned home to discover that two males had been in his house and were fleeing the residence. Chief Deputy Justin Cross was dispatched to the call, as the homeowner was attempting to follow the vehicle at a safe distance. Deputy Cross was able to locate the vehicle, a 2001 white GMC, and initiated a felony traffic stop at mile marker 46 on the Louis B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway. When Deputy Cross approached the vehicle, the passenger, later identified as Zachary Derman of Columbia, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Deputy Cross pursued and was able to apprehend him over a half mile away. The operator, Estes Owens, was taken into custody without incident. Both men were lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by the Adair County Sheriff's Office. Estes Owens was charged with
