CPD: Female charged for possession, transaction with minor

By Officer Adam Cravens
Columbia Police Department

The Columbia Police Department responded with Adair EMS to First Choice Immediate Care just outside of the city limits for a possible juvenile drug overdose.

A sixteen year old male juvenile was transported by Adair EMS to TJ Samson Columbia for treatment. It was later found he had been allowed access to cannabis concentrate by using a vape pen.

After a brief investigation, a female party who had allowed the juvenile to use the vape pen was identified and contact was made. The female admitted she had allowed the juvenile to use her personal property, which resulted in his overdose.

Jessica Bennett, 21, of Columbia was taken into custody and charged with possession of marijuana as well as unlawful transaction with a minor 2nd degree; a class D felony.

Officer Drew Conn was the investigating Officer. He was assisted by Officer Adam Cravens.
