Gusty winds and cold temperatures for Halloween

It's currently 66F at the Adair County Mesonet station, and rain remains likely through mid-day, tapering off between 1pmCT and 4pmCT. A cold front will cause temperatures to drop into the upper 30's or lower 40's by late afternoon, accompanied by gusty west winds.

Winds at 15 to 20 mph will gust 30 mph up to 40 mph at times. Wind chill values will be in the 20's during the late afternoon through this evening. Any loose outdoor objects or decorations should be secured, and trick-or-treaters should prepare for winter-like temperatures.

Clouds will gradually clear tonight, with an overnight low around 26F. West wind 12 to 17 mph becoming light after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.

Friday will be sunny, with a high near 50F and calm wind.

Friday night will be clear, with a low around 28F.
