Macdonald leads LWC Women's Swimming to 112-89 win By Chris Wells Lindsey Wilson women's swimming posted seven first-place finishes en route to a 112-89 win over visiting Asbury (KY) on Friday at Holloway Natatorium. Jessica Macdonald was part of two individual wins and a relay win to lead the Blue Raiders. Narjiss Bourbouh, Annissa Koekemoer, Emma Phillips, and Carlene Taylor also picked up individual wins during the meet. Macdonald won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.23 seconds to win by just over a second over Taylor -- who finished with a 55.36. Both times were good enough to post a national A championship standard. Macdonald added a second individual win in the 200 free with a time of 1:59.44, to win by over four seconds. Macdonald teamed with Bourbouh, Koekemoer, and Taylor to win the 200 freestyle relay with a national standard time. The quartet posted a time of 1:42.29 to win by nearly 16 seconds. Taylor captured the 50 free title with a sprint of 25.67 seconds while Phillips won the 1,000 free in 11:56.44. Bourbouh posted individual national qualifying time in the 100 butterfly. She finished in 1:00.82 to win by more than two seconds. Koekemoer also posted a two-second win during the dual. She touched the wall at 1:03.15 in the 100 backstroke to pick up the win. The final Lindsey Wilson national qualifying A standard came from the 200 medley relay. The foursome of Natalie Lohman, Sarah Hahn, Hannah Russo, and Jaye Farthing posted a time of 2:04.85 to finish second while earning the national standard. Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 26, as the Blue Raiders host Life (Ga.) at Holloway Natatorium. This story was posted on 2019-10-12 05:59:12
