Blinkhorn wins, LWC Men's Golf finishes 2nd By Chris Wells Richmond, KY - Callum Blinkhorn shot an even-par 72 today to win the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament at Gibson Bay Golf Course. The reigning MSC Men's Golfer of the Year finished the two-day, 36-hole tournament with a 1-under par 143 (71-72) to win by one stroke over Cumberland's (Tenn.) Isaac Walker. The win is Blinkhorn's first of the season and seventh of his career. Lindsey Wilson finished second in the team event with a two-round total of 593 (295-298) at the par 72, 7,068-yard Gibson Bay layout. Cumberland won the tournament by five shots with a 588 (291-297). Campbellsville (Ky.) and Cumberlands (Ky.) tied for third with 605s. Blinkhorn carded five birdies in the up-and-down round, including back-to-back birdies on holes 15 and 16. Following the two birdies, Blinkhorn gave a shot back at 17 but managed to par his final three holes to secure the win. Callum Burns and Etienne Rensburg each tied for fourth in the 49-man field. Each shot 147s during the tournament. Burns shot 1-over par 73 today while Rensburg carded a 2-over par 74 in the final round. Burns eagled the par-4 441-yard first hole during today's round. He added two birdies late to post his first top-five of the season. Rensburg carded three birdies over a four-hole stretch late in the round to surge up the leaderboard. He has two top-five finishes in three tournaments this season. Janik Hawlitzky tied for 24th over the two days with a 156 (77-79) while Quentin Malik ended in 44th with a 164 (79-85). Scot Kirby and Jeremiah Hayes tied for 34th playing as individuals. The pair posted 158s.
