LWC Men's soccer defeats Thomas More 6-0 in MSC match By Christopher Coombs The No. 9-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team defeated Thomas More (Ky.) 6-0 in Mid-South Conference action at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. It would only take 15 minutes for the Blue Raiders to score their first goal of the contest. Off a Lindsey Wilson shot, Amin Fernouchi gathered his own rebound and finished far post in traffic for the score. Just two minutes later, LWC would find the back of the net for the second time. Bruno Henrique dribbled up the middle of the field into TMU's defensive third. He played a through ball to Akean Shackleford who slipped past his defender before beating a charging keeper. The Blue Raiders would continue to control the action for the rest of the half as they finished with an impressive 17 shots, five on goal while limiting the Saints to just one shot. Lindsey Wilson scored again in the 55th minute. Shackleford carried the ball into the penalty area before it was deflected away by a Saints defender. Neville Morgan gathered the ball and played one-off for David Ibrahimkadic who struck from just inside the 18-yard box. The goal was Ibrahimkadic's first of the season. Oscar Duaso got on the score sheet with his goal in the 67th minute. Off a set-piece, Hugo Sias set a ball toward the far post from near the right sideline in TMU territory that found Dueso. LWC scored again when Henrique found a streaking Alexander Koziolek who drove hard into the penalty area. Koziolek played one across his body that Shackleford would head home into an empty goal. Lindsey Wilson's final goal of the night would come when Dueso scored his second of the night off a Shackleford assist. Lindsey Wilson finished the night with 33 shots, 11 on goals while limiting TMU to just five shots, one on goal. The Blue Raiders are back in action on Oct. 8 when they hit the road to take on Shawnee State at 6pmCT in another MSC matchup. This story was posted on 2019-10-06 08:21:30
