Shirley Dean Stephens Scott, 67, Cumberland County, KY Shirley Dean (Stephens) Scott, of Marrowbone, Kentucky passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Cumberland County Hospital having attained the age of 67 years, 11 months and 16 days. The Funeral service Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 11amCT at The Scott Cemetery at Peytonsburg, Kentucky with Bro. Darrell Bartley officiating. Burial will of her cremains will follow there. No visitation at the funeral home. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on Thursday, October 18, 1951 the daughter of Luther Edward Stephens and Ada Bell Adams. She was a Christian, of the Baptist Faith, a graduate of Cumberland County High School (Class of 1969), and a retired Deputy Judge Executive of Cumberland County fiscal court having served 27 years. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Wade Scott, son Perry Dean "P.D." Scott, and her step-father, Felma "Jiggs" Groce. She is survived by her mother, Ada Bell Adams (and special friend, Margo Gibson) of Glasgow, Kentucky, sister, Peggy Swartz of Scottsville, Kentucky, brother, Danny (and Derronia) Groce of Burkesville, Kentucky, Nephews, John Michael (and Toni) Swartz, Craig (and Coti) Groce, Niece, Laura (and Nick) Phelps, Great-niece, Kinsley Violet Swartz, Great-nephews, Beckham Groce, Easton Groce and Chase Alexander Swartz.
