CJ coverage of gas pipeline noise By Billy Kobin, Louisville Courier Journal Officials in Adair County, said they are seeking to determine the cause of a noise coming from a natural gas pipeline that runs through the area. The Adair County Emergency Management agency said in a news release Thursday the county sheriff was notified Sept. 24 of a noise coming from the Columbia Gulf Transmission Pipeline in the area of Knifley Road and Robinson Ridge Road. In February 2014, an underground section of Columbia Gulf Transmission's Line 200 exploded near Ky. 76 in Knifley. The blast -- not far from where the recent noise was heard -- left a 60-foot crater in the ground, destroyed two homes, injured two people and forced 20 residents to evacuate.
