Letter: Jeff Johnson right about location of Big Windy

Mike Watson writes:
Jeff Johnson has the location of 'Big Windy' correct. The area was once commonly known to be no place for a peace-loving person to wander. There was a time, a century ago or more, when men met in that vicinity to gamble, among other things.

There were at least two men killed in this area in the early 1900s. One killing, in 1903, was over twenty cents in a crap game. Illegal liquor sales were also common and the revenue officers often made raids there. That's not to say there weren't good folk living in the area, too. --MW
