Montford Elwood Coomer, 79 Montford Elwood Coomer, 79, Milltown, IN, formerly of Adair County, passed away Friday, May 2, 2003, at the Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, IN. He was the son of the late Walter and Edna Harvey Coomer of Adair County. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Hadley Coomer, Milltown, IN; two daughters, Bea Green and her husband Paul, Jr., Columbia, KY, and Sheila Sieg and her husband Pat of Milltown, IN; one sister, Ann Allen, Jeffersonville, IN; six grandchildren, including, locally, Todd Green and his wife Donna; Kim Pelly and her husband Buddy of Columbia, KY.; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Coomer; one brother, Harvey Coomer; and one sister, Bernice Curry. Mr. Coomer attended the Hardinsburg United Methodist Church. He was a retired Stone Plainerman, a farmer, Veteran of World War II serving in the Army, an ex-POW, a member of the Milltown Masonic Lodge #661, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. The funeral service was Sunday, May 4, 2003, at 2:00 p.m., EDT, at the Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home in Milltown, IN. Clergy officiating were Bro. Vance Bruner and Pastor Jane Harbeson. Interment was in Union Chapel Cemetery in Milltown, IN. Pallbearers were paul Green, Jr.; Todd Green, Joe Polly; Pat Sieg, Steve Cecil, B.J. Crecius; and Darren Shelton.
