Bingham's Country Store, Clay Ridge Patricia and Samuel S. Bingham of Keltner have expanded their country store business to include the Clay Ridge Deli & Grocery, which they will operate as Bingham's Country Store, Clay Ridge. This designation will distinguish the Clay Ridge Store from the original Bingham's Country Store in Keltner. The Binghams will continue to operate both businesses. The Binghams took over the operation of the Clay Ridge store on Saturday, April 19. The store is located 7 miles north of Columbia at 7110 Greensburg Road, Greensburg, KY 42743. (It is well inside Adair County, but the mailing address is Greensburg.) In addition to the Binghams, the staff will include Treva Curry and Wanda Hatcher, plus Josh Hatcher and Jackie Penn. They bought the popular gathering place from Sandra and Billy Keltner. Mrs. Keltner had built the thriving business with a magic mix of smiles, service, and good country store food. Mrs. Keltner has taken a position with Grimsley's Jewelry in Columbia, and is completing a degree in nursing. Bingham's Country Store Clay Ridge will operate much as it had under the Keltners, but with expanded hours: now, Monday through Saturday, from 5 a.m. to 6 or 7 in the evening.
