Letter: A story that should be told Martha Berry writes: Vonnie, I don't remember the year but I do remember Mom telling me about the fire. Later one of the Jackman teachers was hired to teach at CHS and did so without a ripple of protest. Because of that lady Columbia schools were integrated long before the rest of the country. I don't think I ever new her name but you can probably find it in the records.
