Fred Johnson, 80

The funeral service for World War II veteran Fred Johnson, 80, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2003, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia.

Mr. Johnson passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2003, at 4:30 p.m., at his home at 801 Wright Drive, Columbia, after an illness of several months.

He was the son of the late Joseph R. and Minnie Reid Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Mae Burton Johnson, who died on July 30, 2000.

He is survived by six sons, Eddie Johnson and David Johnson, both of Shelbyville, IN; and Dale Johnson, Larry Johnson, Robert Johnson, and James Johnson, all of Columbia; one daughter, Jada Kelsay, Columbia, KY; and nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Wally Johnson, who died May 1, 1996.

Bro. Stanley Watson will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Free Union Cemetery, Sano Road, Columbia, KY.

The family requests visitation after 4:30 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2003, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
