LWC football hosts Point on Saturday By Grace Blomstedt The No. 13-ranked Lindsey Wilson football team hosts Point (GA) at 1:30pmCT on Saturday at Blue Raider Stadium, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KY. The Blue Raiders (1-0) return to action after a 40-24 victory over rival Campbellsville (Ky.) last Thursday. In the victory, Lindsey Wilson had five touchdowns with 412 total yards of offense with 143 coming from the ground and 263 in the air. Senior Jared Dougherty claimed the top-spot on the career all-time scoring list with his two field goals and four extra-points. Jaylen Boyd accounted for 164 yards of total offense and one touchdown, while Stevie Miller recorded nine total tackles, including 2-1/2 for a total loss of 12 yards and a fumble recovery. Point (0-1) makes the trip to Columbia after a 59-0 loss against Kennesaw State (Ga.) -- an NCAA FCS -- on Saturday. The Skyhawks recorded only 129 yards of total offense. D.J. Patrick produced 29 of Point's 37 rushing yards and Micah Maxey connected with nine different players to accumulate the 92 yards of passing on 15 completions.
