Run for Veterans 5K/10K is Sat 7 Sept 2019

By Cole Schmidt

The annual Run for Veterans 5K/10K will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019. This will be our 4th annual event hosted by VFW Post 6097.

Registration will be begin at 8amCT at the Jim Blair Community Center, 901 Hudson Street, Columbia, KY. Walkers will be limited to the 5K. The race will take place rain or shine. The entry fee is $25, and you can download the registration form at run-for-veterans.blogspot.com.

The course is an out and back on the Columbia Bypass. Volunteers will be on the course, with water stations at the 1.5 and 3.0 mile turn around points. Awards will be given for the top 3 male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K races.

If you are unable to participate you can still make a donation. If you have any questions you welcome to call 270.250.4054.

Over the past 3 years the race has raised over $5,700, and those funds have been distributed directly back into the community. The proceeds from the event have contributed to the purchase of uniforms in the Adair County High School ROTC program, little league park equipment items, and for other community programs. Please come out to support this event. --Cole
