Niderla named MSC Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week

By Chris Wells

Kasia Niderla has been named the Mid-South Conference Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The Poniatowo, Poland, freshman, averaged 3.4 kills with a .455 attacking percentage against three top-10 teams last week. Niderla ended the weekend with 41 kills and 13 blocks.

Niderla opened the weekend with seven kills and five blocks in a loss to host and No. 4-ranked Missouri Baptist at the Spartan Invitational. She posted a career-high 20 kills with five more blocks in the Blue Raiders' 3-1 upset of No. 8 Midland (Neb.).

Niderla closed the week with 14 kills -- her sixth double-digit kill match of the season -- in a 3-2 setback to No. 5-ranked Viterbo (Wis.).

Following the weekend, No. 9-ranked Lindsey Wilson is 6-2 on the season.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 5pmCT on Wednesday, Sept. 3, as the Blue Raiders open up Mid-South Conference play at Shawnee State (Ohio) in Portsmouth, Ohio.
