Walter Forrest, 98, Taylor County, KY (1921-2019)

Walter Forrest of Elk Horn, KY died Sunday, August 25, 2019 at age 98.

Cremation was chosen by the family.



He was the son of the late Alfred Lee Forrest and Maggie Belle Leonard Forrest, born July 15, 1921, in Taylor County, Kentucky.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of White's Ridge General Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of World War II and served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Walter was a retired employee of Bourbon Cooperage after twenty-eight years of service and also a farmer.

He united in marriage to Elizabeth Bright October 8, 1949 and she preceded him in death March 6, 2016.

He is survived by one son and three daughters: Ronald Forrest and wife, Nancy of Elk Horn, Brenda Haycraft and husband, Darrell of Louisville, Donna Lankford and husband, Mike of Pekin, Indiana and Michelle Forrest of Nashville, Tennessee; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lena Brockman of Casey Creek; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Alfred Forrest, Russell Forrest, Robert Forrest, Patsy Piercy and Martha Gabehart.

Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
