Ray Kermit Scott, 87, Burkesville, KY (1932-2019) Mr. Ray Kermit Scott of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019, at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 87 years, 1 month, and 22 days. The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at 11amCT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main St, Burkesville, KY. Burial will follow in the Burkesville Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5:30pmCT on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, until the funeral hour on Wednesday morning. He was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Monday, June 27, 1932, the son of Richard and Pearl McIntyre Scott. He was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church and was a farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Ruth Spears Scott, whom he married on Tuesday, April 1, 1952, his brothers, Ira Scott, Russell Scott, Cecil Scott, Berchie Scott, Webb Scott, his sisters, Nina Bean, Hazel Bean, Frances Owens, his nephews, James Bean, and Jamie Spears. He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Mosier of Glasgow, Kentucky, Lilera Scott of Russell Springs, Kentucky, a special nephew, Noah Young of Burkesville, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.
