KSP: Campbellsville man arrested after multi-county pursuit

Taylor County, KY - On Monday, August 12, 2019 at approximately 1:24amET, Kentucky State Police Post 15 was notified that officers with Lebanon Police Department were in pursuit of a west bound 2005 Hyundai on US 68 operated by 39 year old William Robinson of Campbellsville.

Trooper Daniel Forbis took the lead in the pursuit in Taylor County and observed the driver run through several red traffic lights as it continued to flee at speeds in excess of 100 MPH, also driving on the wrong side of the road. Sgt. Adam Likins set up a tire deflation device and was able to successfully disable the vehicle on US 68 in Metcalfe County. Robinson lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway.

Robinson jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot for a short distance before he was apprehended.


Robinson was arrested and charged with speeding 26 MPH over speed limit, no registration plate, no registration receipt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, reckless driving, disregarding a traffic control device, fleeing or evading police 1st degree (motor vehicle), fleeing or evading police 2nd degree (on foot), and resisting arrest.

Robinson was lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center.
