Education and Career Counseling at Kentucky State Fair

Frankfort, KY - The Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet (EWDC) invites Kentuckians seeking employment and educational opportunities to visit the EWDC booth at the 2019 Kentucky State Fair.

The EWDC booth will be located in the South Wing on Main Street near the B107 entrance of the Kentucky State fair. The booth will highlight employment and adult educations services offered by the Kentucky Career Center and Kentucky Skills U.

State fair attendees can take advantage of Resume Building, Career Counseling, InFocus Career Registration, and GED Registration sessions offered at no cost to attendees. Sessions will be held on the following dates and times:


Thursday, August 15 & Saturday, August 23
  • Building Your Resume 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 5:00 PM (ET)
  • Registering in Focus Career 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, 6:00 PM (ET)
  • Career Counseling 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 7:00 PM (ET)


Saturday, August 17 & Thursday, August 22
  • GED Registration 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM (ET)
Additional Kentucky Career Center services that will be highlighted at the state fair include vocational rehabilitation services, unemployment insurance, veteran career services, and employer and apprenticeship services.

The booth will also feature informational apprenticeship, and career explorer sessions where Kentuckians can learn more about apprenticeship opportunities as well as explore potential career pathways through use of Kentucky's interactive Career Explorer Tool.

Sessions will be on Friday, August 16 as follows:
  • Career Explorer 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM (ET)
  • Apprenticeship 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:30 PM (ET)
EWDC will also highlight the state's library and archives services, early childhood education, environmental education, and entrepreneur programs for Kentucky students as part of the 2019 Kentucky State Fair.
