Adair Co. Grand Jury returns indictments Tue 6 Aug 2019

Indictments brought against 11 individuals from Columbia, Russell Springs, and Jamestown, KY, on charges including DUI, trafficking, theft, possession, criminal mischief and sexual abuse.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Adair County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Columbia, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Tuesday, 6 Aug 2019:


  • Jamie Gail Flatt, Melson Ridge Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 19-CR-00146. Charged with 8 counts. Count 1 - Driving DUI suspended license, 3rd offense. Count 2 - No/Expired registration plates. Count 3 - Failure to produce insurance card. Count 4 - Filaure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, 1st offense. Count 5 - Failure to wear seat belt. Count 6 - Booster seat violations. Count 7 - No registration receipt. Count 8 - Failure to use child restraint device in vehicle. Bail set at $1,000 cash, arraignment 8/27/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Carlos R. Grant, Bomar Heights St., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 19-CR-00147. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, 2g+ methamphetamine. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree. Count 3 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail set at $7,500 cash, arraignment 8/27/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Jonathan W. Loy, Burkesville St., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 19-CR-00148. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, $500 or more but under $10,000. Bail set at $1,000 cash, arraignment 8/27/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Eric D. Rowe, W. Barbee St., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 19-CR-00150. Charged with 5 counts. Count 1 - Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree. Count 3 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 3rd or subsequent offense, methamphetamine. Count 4 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Count 5 - Possession of marijuana. Bail set at $7,500 cash, arraignment 8/27/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Christopher Lynn Pelston, Felton Fudge Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 19-CR-00151. Charged with 3 counts. Counts 1-3 - Sexual abuse, 1st degree. Bail set at $2,500 cash, arraignment 8/27/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Ruben James Smith, Gaston Ave., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 19-CR-00152. Charged with 23 counts. Counts 1-12 - Theft of identity. Count 13 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, $500 or more but under $10,000. Count 14 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, under $500. Count 15 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, under $500. Count 16 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, under $500. Count 17 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, under $500. Count 18 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, under $500. Count 19 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, $500 or more but under $10,000. Count 20 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, $500 or more but under $10,000. Count 21 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, under $500. Count 22 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, $500 or more but under $10,000. Count 23 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, $500 or more but under $10,000.   • Wesley A. Pitcock, E. Front St., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 19-CR-00154. Charged with 10 counts. Count 1 - Burglary, 3rd degree. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree. Count 3 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, $500 or more but under $10,000. Count 4 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree. Count 5 - Burglary, 3rd degree.   • Roger Dean Weston, S. Hwy 76, Russell Springs, KY Indictment No. 19-CR-00155. Charged with 8 counts. Count 1 - Receiving stolen property, $500 or more but less than $10,000. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree. Count 3 - Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 2nd or subsequent offense, 2g+ methamphetamine. Count 4 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree. Count 5 - Tampering with physical evidence. Count 6 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree.
