Green County man shot, killed in Roachville community By Larry Joe Smith, 99.9 Big Dawg radio A long standing dispute has resulted in a man being shot to death in the Roachville community of Green County, KY Tuesday afternoon, July 16, 2019 around 1pmCT. Big Dawg news has learned that Bill Dishman was killed in a situation between him and his son-in-law Travis Gowen. Dishman had allegedly been making threats that he was going to kill Gowen. The threats started over year ago, over a property dispute. According to witnesses, Gowen was operating a lawnmower when Dishman approached him, pointing a gun barrel toward his eye. A struggle then ensued between the two men. Gowen was able to retrieve the gun and Dishman was shot. Dishman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Green County coroner. Gowen was later taken to Taylor Regional Hospital with a possible broken jaw and several broken ribs. Kentucky State Police Columbia Post 15 is currently investigating.
