Genealogy community celebrates author Laura Gupton

By Mike Watson

The historical and genealogical community of South Central Kentucky is abuzz with the publication of two new research volumes. Death Records of Central Kentucky: Adair, Green & Taylor Counties, volume 1, 1911-1915 and volume 2, 1916-1920, were researched and published by Laura Gupton of Campbellsville.

The information in these books is outstanding, excellent research went into the creation of Death Records, and many weeks of tedious and meticulous editing has made them easy to use, a boon for those searching for deaths and burials in this part of Kentucky in the first decade of Death Certificates at the state level.

Laura is a regular volunteer at TRAC--Taylor Regional Archives Center--in Campbellsville, and a frequent researcher at the Adair County Public Library, as well as Secretary of the Adair County Genealogical Society, and a perennial local-history presenter at ACGS programs and Columbia's Silent City Tours.

These great tools are available as a pair or individually and may be purchased at the Adair Public Library, Taylor Regional Archives, or on Amazon.com.
