LaWanda Kay Smith, 50, Adair/Taylor Counties, KY (1968-2019)

She loved to sing, dance, and play bingo or slot machines, and stayed active bowling or taking a long, leisurely walk. Ms. Smith had an affectionate heart and loved people, and was certain that everyone she met loved her in return.

LaWanda Kay Smith of Campbellsville, KY, born on September 21, 1968 in Adair County, departed this life on Sunday, June 30, 2019 in Louisville. She was 50 years, 9 months, and 9 days of age.

There will be a funeral service to honor her life on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11amCT/12noonET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Entombment will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 3878 Old Greensburg Rd, Campbellsville, KY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 5, from 5-8pmET.



She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Run Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the Fort Knox High School, and worked at Adanta Tenco Development Services in Campbellsville. She loved to sing, dance, and play bingo or slot machines, and stayed active bowling or taking a long, leisurely walk. Ms. Smith had an affectionate heart and loved people, and was certain that everyone she met loved her in return.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

Her father: Dennis Smith of Hazard,

Her sister: Ann White and husband Dale of Louisville,

An uncle: Doug Young of Harrodsburg,

Five aunts: Mary Williams and husband Rev. Morrisdine of Campbellsville, Jean Isaac of Florida, Roda Smith and husband Bob of Campbellsville, Denise Shaukey and husband Bill of Louisville, and Shelia Young of Campbellsville,

Nephews: Isley Harper and Tanner Harper,

And a host of close cousins and other relatives and friends.
