Pilgrim named to CoSIDA All-America Softball Team By Chris Wells Callum Pilgrim has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Softball Team, selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America), the organization announced on Monday. Pilgrim is among 12 softball student-athletes in the NAIA selected to the first team and one of four outfielders. She was selected from members of the NAIA's four all-district teams, which were announced in early May. Pilgrim is a physical education and health major and sports a 3.85 grade point average. She helped guide Lindsey Wilson to the NAIA World Series this season, where the Blue Raiders finished tied for fifth in the tournament -- losing to the eventual national champion and the tournament's top seed in the double-elimination tournament. Lindsey Wilson ended the season with a 52-5 record, winning the Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament titles. The Mid-South Conference Player of the Year ended the season hitting.405 with 11 home runs and 54 RBIs. She ranks in the top-25 in the NAIA in seven different statistical categories. Pilgrim concluded her collegiate career as the program's all-time leader in hits, runs, doubles, and stolen bases. Student-athletes are nominated by their school's sports information directors and voted on by CoSIDA members in their district. The nominees must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average, be a sophomore or higher in academic standing and be a starter or important reserve on their respective teams. Pilgrim becomes the fourth Blue Raider to earn the honor, joining Emily Priar (2012), Travatia Bowden (2014), and Cassie Kooker (2016, 2017, 2018). This story was posted on 2019-06-04 06:15:25
