Dewayne Cochran, 85, Liberty, KY (1933-2019) Dewayne Cochran of Liberty passed away on Monday May 27th, 2019 at home. He was 85 years young. Funeral Services will be held at 11amET on Friday May 31, 2019 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY. Bro. David Holt and Bro. Jake Eldridge will be officiating. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery with Military Rites performed by the Casey County Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 5pmET until 8pmET on Thursday May 30, 2019 and after 8amCT on Friday May 31, 2019, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Born on October 10, 1933 in Liberty, KY he was a son of the late Lawrence and Bettie (Long) Cochran. Dewayne attended Carr's Chapel First Church of God, was an U.S. Army Veteran, and a retired sawmill machine operator. He was known as "Pops" working with his son at Cochran Masonary, he enjoyed farming and being with family. Dewayne is survived by his wife, Velma Vaught Cochran who he has been married to for 65 years. One Son: Marvin Cochran, Two Daughters: Donna (Ira Jr.) Atwood, Janet (Darrell) Barlow all of Liberty, Six Grandchildren: Barry (Jodi) Atwood, Amy Barlow, Amanda (Jake) Eldridge, Ben (Maranda) Barlow, Celese Cochran and Marcus Cochran, Five Great Grandchildren: Conner, Addison, Isaiah, Rylee and River, Two Sisters: Nanette Carman of Bethelridge, KY and Wraylene Wilson of OH and Three Brothers: Marshall (Evelyn) Cochran of Liberty, Gile (Kathy) Cochran of Danville, KY and Travis (Linda) Cochran of OH. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by One Brother: Hansel Cochran and Two Sisters: Hazel Pennington and Jeanette Thomas. Bartle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
