Jenice Madeline Prater, 85, Russell Springs, KY (1933-2019)

She was a Bank Teller at First National Bank and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Jenice Madeline Scales Prater of Russell Springs, died Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Russell County Hospital. She was 85 years old.

The funeral service for Jenice Madeline Prater will be at 11amCT on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Preston Richardson, Bro. Dennis Price, Bro. Paul Roy, and Bro. Timothy Wade officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5pmCT until 8pmCT on Tuesday at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel and after 9amCT on Wednesday until funeral time at 11amCT at the church.

She was born August 23, 1933 in Russell County to the late Thomas Newton & Sara Snow Scales. She was a Bank Teller at First National Bank and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Wayne Prater and a grandchild, Brandon Ross

Survivors include:
  • Two children: Mark Wayne (Glenda) Prater, Russell Springs, and Barry Prater, Lexington, Ky (Deborah)
  • Three grandchildren: Mark Robert (Slavona) Prater, Russell Springs, Lauren (Timothy) Wade, Savannah, GA, and Heather Prater
  • Ten great grandchildren: Ciara, Julia, Brooklynn, Madeline, Ethan, Lydia, Cora, Leigha, Amelia, and Jude
  • A half sister: Faye Burton
Expressions of sympathy suggested to ARC Pregnancy Center in memory of Madeline Prater. These can ba made at the funeral home.
