Men's Tennis begins play at the NAIA National Championship By Clayton Barefield The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team begins play at the NAIA National Championship on Tuesday at 8:30amCT at the Mobile Tennis Center, 851 Gaillard Dr., Mobile AL. The No. 12-seeded Blue Raiders (10-6) are slated to face No. 21-seeded Texas A&M Texarkana to open the tournament. Lindsey Wilson received an automatic bid into the competition after capturing the program's 15th Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament titles. The Blue Raiders were last on the court in the MSC Tournament Finals where they defeated Cumberlands (KY) 5-2. Tuesday's match is the 17th appearance in the National Championships for Lindsey Wilson. LWC holds a 14-16 all-time record in the national tournament. Last season, the Blue Raiders fell to Reinhardt (GA) in the second round of the tournament. Texas A&M Texarkana (7-6) earned their way into the tournament by taking the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament crown with a 6-0 victory over Our Lady of the Lake (Texas). The Eagles were defeated 7-2 by fellow MSC member Campbellsville (Ky.) in the opening round last season. Tuesday's match is just the second national tournament appearance for TAMUT. The first serve of the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship opening round match between Lindsey Wilson and Texas A&M Texarkana is scheduled for 8:30amCT on Tuesday at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama, with the winning team moving on to the second round to face No. 5-seeded Wiliam Carey (Miss.) on Wednesday.
