Letter carriers' 27th annual food drive, Sat 11 May

By Randal Murrell, Postmaster

The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will conduct its 27th annual national food drive on Saturday, May 11, 2019. The Stamp Out Hunger(R) Food Drive, the country's largest single-day food drive, provides residents with an easy way to donate food to those in need in the community.

On this day, Mail carriers in Columbia and Adair County will be collecting non-perishable food items like canned meats and fish, canned soup, juice, pasta, vegetables, cereal and rice to help families in need.

You can help by placing your food donation at your mailbox on May 11th before your mail carrier arrives. It will be collected by your mail carrier and then delivered to the local food bank.

If you are not able to leave an item by your mailbox on the 11th but would still like to contribute, you may drop your food contribution off at the Columbia Post Office, 800 Burkesville St, Columbia, KY, any time before May 11, 2019.

People who have questions about the drive in their area should ask their letter carrier, contact their local post office, or go to nalc.org/food, facebook.com/StampOutHunger or twitter.com/StampOutHunger.
