Dr. Cathy Abell is guest speaker at Caregivers meeting By Linda Waggener Dr. Cathy Abell spoke on leadership at the May Caregivers meeting in Columbia. She shared the qualities of a leader and spoke of the very special qualities of the servant leaders who provide care for others. She dedicated the session to her father, Gene Hoots, and said the leadership in her family started in their home with his guidance. The servant leader must have all the characteristics of a management leader plus the sincere desire to serve others. Dr. Abell recommended two books for further study: The Fred Factor, and the 24 Carrot Manager. She left the group with the suggestion that each individual ask themselves this question every week, “what did I do this past week to make me a better leader?“ This story was posted on 2019-05-02 09:04:04
