There's a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday as a high pressure ridge moves eastward. Thursday will be partly sunny, with a high near 81F and southwest wind 6 to 10 mph. Scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast for much of the region on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Besides lightning, the main threats from these storms will be brief gusty winds and heavy rainfall with possible hail in stronger storms.
