Marital Bliss

This article first appeared in issue 10, and was written by Jean Cravens.

A policeman pulled over a couple yesterday and announced to the driver, "I'm going to have to give you a speeding ticket."

"I was not speeding," the man said.

"Yes, you were," said the woman to his right.

The policeman handed him the first ticked and proceeded to begin writing again, "I'm going to have to give you a second ticket, sir, for not wearing a seat belt."

"I'm wearing a seat belt!" the man said, getting agitated.

"You put it on after I pulled you over, I saw you," said the policeman.

"I was wearing my seat belt!" the man said.

"No you weren't," said the woman to his right.

The policeman looked around the man to the woman and asked, "Is he always this way?"

"Only when he's drinking," she said.
