Free Tipping half day at landfill today in Adair

Today, Saturday, April 27, 2019, is the final Free Tipping Day at the Adair County Transfer Station, 877 L Willis Road, Columbia, KY in this year's PRIDE Cleanup month. The half day hours are from 8:30-11:30amCT.

Tire Amnesty Days are coming up May 16, 17 and 18 at the State Highway Department on Highway 55 North in Columbia.

Reminder - it is illegal to burn trash other than brush and natural elements.

Smith family helping with April Cleanup focus

Aaron, Angie and MaKayla Smith have been among the Adair Countians working with PRIDE Cleanup this month. At the kickoff day they planned to take the lead in the Milltown area, helping keep our roadsides beautiful.

There's a good steady flow of loads coming in, not much wait time at all, according to David Beasley, Solid Waste Coordinator, who is working his second Free Tipping Day at the Adair County Transfer Station, 877 L Willis Road, Columbia, KY. There's no weighing which speeds things along. Just drive up, dump and go. Free Tipping ends today at 11:30amCT. For more information, David can be reached at 270-590-9488.

2019 Free Tipping Days a win for Adair environment

ACJE Gale Cowan writes, "I just want to thank the many folks who made use of Free Tipping Day, bringing the trash out to the Transfer Station so dumps don’t get started." The month of April has been dedicated to cleaning our environment with many volunteers and individuals getting involved in the work.

The next Cleanup is by Coach Chris Oliver and his LWC Football Team who will be working in town on May 1, 2019. After that there is Tire Amnesty in mid-May.
