High School Women's Ensemble receives high honor To schedule the opportunity to hear the Adair County High School Women's Ensemble, their Spring Concert will be held at the Columbia United Methodist Church, 202 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY at 7pmCT on May 16, 2019. From Music Director Ginna Marsh Franklin Distinguished Concerts International in New York has asked the Adair County High School Women's Ensemble to be a part of the Music for Women's Voices Concert at Carnegie Hall, in New York City. This is a HUGE honor for my students. This concert consists of around 250 singers from around the world. In the past 10 years, DCINY has represented 47 different countries in their performances. As of now, (there will be more joining) participants for this concert are from Spain, the Czech Republic, Massachusetts and Adair County, Kentucky. There will be two conductors for this concert scheduled for April of 2020; Dr. Janet Galvan, Director of Choral Activities at Ithaca College, and Dr. Nuria Fernandez Herranz, from the High Conservatory of Music in Castilla-La Mancha in Spain. Students are: Emma Grider, Raven Yike, Amie Padgette, Autumn Reynolds, Cheyan Walters, Aeriyal Anderson, Madison Coomer, Kristina Kirksey, Emma Rich, Ellie Belcher, Joaquina Domingo, Kayla Eaton and Faith Berry. They were chosen for the honor to sing The National Anthem in the Sweet Sixteen state tournament, and they will be participating in a December, 2019 event at Disney World.
