LWC Softball hosts Cumberland and Ohio Christian

The Lindsey Wilson softball team hosts Cumberland (TN) and Ohio Christian on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Lindsey Wilson softball team hits the dirt on Tuesday, April 9 against Cumberland at 3pmCT, followed by Ohio Christian on Wednesday, April 10 at 1pmCT at Marilyn D. Sparks Park, Lindsey Wilson Sports Complex, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KY.

The Blue Raiders (27-1, 10-0) return to the field after defeating Georgetown (KY) on Saturday 5-0 in both games of their doubleheader.


As a team, the offensive is maintaining a stout .346 batting average with 38 home runs and 179 RBIs this season. The Blue Raider pitching is posting sharp numbers with a 1.49 earned run average, while striking out 168 opposing batters and keeping opponents to a .193 batting average.

The pitching duo of Annabelle Ramirez and Hannah Epperson continues their potent pitching to shut down opposing teams. Ramirez is posting a .62 earn run average with 81 strikeouts in 56.2 innings of work, while Epperson holds a .72 earn run average with 49 strikeouts in 58.1 innings of production. Opposing batters are batting under .200 while combined Epperson and Ramirez

Callum Pilgrim, Makea-Al Kaluau and Jaydee Boursaw continue to lead the Blue Raider offense. The three student-athletes are all batting over .400 with a combined total of 26 home runs and 92 RBIs.

Cumberland (18-13, 4-8 MSC) returns to action after sweeping Shawnee State (Ohio) over the weekend. The Phoenix post of .318 batting average with 15 home runs and 122 RBIs this season. Cumberland is taking advantage of free bases, stealing 63-of-77 bases. Tyra Graham is batting .417 with a team-leading seven home runs and 19 RBIs for the Phoenix. Graham is the team leader in base stealing going 19-of-20 in stolen bases.

Tuesday's matchup marks the 48th meeting with Lindsey Wilson leading the series 39-8 all time. The last matchup occurred in 2018 season, in which Lindsey Wilson split the series 2-2.

Ohio Christian (13-21) returns to the dirt after falling to IU-Southeast (Ind.) on Saturday 6-4 and 3-2. The Trailblazers are batting .302 with 13 home runs and 132 RBIs. Jenna Higgins leads the team with .96 batting average while driving in 23 RBIs.

Wednesday's matchup marks the first meeting of the two programs.
