LWC Softball travels to Georgetown for MSC action By Benjamin Riegger The Lindsey Wilson softball team travels to Georgetown (KY) on Saturday April 6 NoonCT for Mid-South Conference action at the Tiger Softball Complex, Crawford Dr, Georgetown, Kentucky. Softball had originally scheduled to play a doubleheader on Friday but with wet field conditions the game is postponed with a makeup date to be announced later this weekend. The Blue Raiders (25-1, 8-0 MSC) returns to the dirt after defeating Midway (KY) 9-0 and 9-3 on Tuesday afternoon. As a team, the Blue Raiders maintains a .511 batting average with a .580 slugging percentage to rank third in the NAIA in slugging percentage. Free bases have put Lindsey Wilson in scoring position with a total of 43 stolen bases. The Blue Raider bullpen is shutting down opposing batters with a total of 148 strikeouts in 169.2 innings pitched while holding opposing teams to a .201 batting average. Callum Pilgrim leads the offensive efforts with a .511 batting average with seven home runs, 27 RBIs and the team leading 23 stolen bases. Blue Raider pitching duo of Hannah Epperson and Annabelle Ramirez are shutting down offenses. The pair has combined for 110 strikeouts in 101 innings of work while only walking 15 total batters. Ramirez is holding opposing batters to .112 batting average while Epperson is keeping opposing batters to .199 batting average. Georgetown (17-13, 4-4 MSC) returns to action after splitting a doubleheader against Union (KY) in game one 5-0 and 2-4 in game two on Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers of Georgetown are hitting with a .281 batting average while driving in 131 RBIs. Georgetown ranks seventh in the NAIA in total stolen bases with 85 this season. Kristen Klimesh and Allison Watson lead the offensive efforts for the Tigers. Klimesh is batting .375 with 17 RBI's and 17 stolen bases, while Watson is batting .343 driving in 18 RBIs and 16 stolen bases. Hannah Morton leads the pitching efforts with a .94 earned run average with three shutouts and 94 strikeouts in 97 innings pitched while shutting down opposing teams to a .175 batting average. Saturday's matchup marks the 62nd matchup with Lindsey Wilson leading the series 41-20. The last matchup occurred in the 2018 MSC tournament, in which Lindsey lost 4-1 to the Tigers.
