LWC Softball travels for weekend games in Georgia

The Lindsey Wilson softball team travels to Georgia to play Georgia Gwinnett and Reinhardt (GA) on Saturday and Sunday.

The team begins their road series against Georgia Gwinnett on Saturday, March 16 at 3pmCT at Grizzly Softball Complex, 1030 Collins Hill Rd., Lawrenceville, GA. They conclude their weekend series at Reinhardt on Sunday, at NoonCT.

No. 8-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball (12-0) return to action after sweeping Indiana University-Southeast on Monday afternoon in New Albany, Indiana.


The Blue Raiders rank first in NAIA in Home Runs per game, averaging 1.83 while maintaining a .649 slugging percentage ranking first in the NAIA. Lindsey Wilson pitching is holding batters to .199 batting average while maintaining a 1.24 earned run average per game.

Jaydee Boursaw leads individual efforts ranking first in the NAIA in total Home Runs with nine this season. Callum Pilgrim leads the Mid-South Conference in batting average, batting.553 with 21 hits and 16 RBIs.

Annabelle Ramirez leads the team in pitching, with a 0.00 earned run average with only one hit on 14 innings pitched. Ramirez has recorded two complete game shut-outs with 17 strikeouts. Hannah Epperson adds in with a .28 earned run average on 25 innings pitched, adding 21 strikeouts and allowing only four runs.

No.4-ranked Georgia Gwinnett (23-5) returns to the action after defeating Thomas (Ga.) 5-3 and 9-4 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Grizzlies are hitting .373 batting average while ranking first in NAIA in total doubles with 60 and ranking second in total triples with 14. Georgia Gwinnett ranks second in NAIA in total RBIs with 190 this season.

Elyssa Melton leads individual efforts batting .432 with 32 hits, three home runs, and 21 RBIs. Three other Grizzly student-athletes have driven in more than 20 RBIs this season in Aubree Cox (25), Sydney Willhite (29), and Tori Robinson (24).

Pitching efforts for Georgia Gwinnett are led by Taylor Hennis, who in her 12 wins this season, has pitched 86.2 innings with 95 strikeouts, four shutouts with a .97 earned run average. Piper Wagner adds in with a 1.37 earned run average with 35 strikeouts and five shutouts on 56.1 innings pitched.

Saturday's matchup marks the first meeting between Lindsey Wilson and Georgia Gwinnett.

Reinhardt (12-7) matches up with Columbia (S.C.) on Saturday, March 16 in Waleska, Georgia before taking on Lindsey Wilson.

The Eagles are ranked in the top-20 in the NAIA in total RBIs with 109 and Total Hits with 180 this season.

Alise Hooker leads Reinhardt with a .438 batting average with 28 hits and 15 RBIs. Autumn Bible adds with a .356 batting average with 16 hits and 16 RBIs.

Lindsey Shepherd leads the Eagles pitching with 2.06 earned run average on 17 innings pitched with seven strikeouts. Ansley Byers adds in with 2.32 earned run average on 45.1 innings pitched and striking out 26 batters.
