Letter: Governor spends half his time on pension issue

Robert Cumming writes:
The governor probably spent half his time at the town forum addressing the seriousness of the state pension issue. Ky is the worst in the nation in underfunded government pensions.

Kentucky is at the critical point where more people are collecting retirement benefits than current employees paying into the state retirement system. For far too long there was little accountability over the state retirement board and how and where the government employee retirement money collected was invested.

Unfortunately many of these poor retirement board investments paid little or no dividends. Now suddenly the so called 'inviolable contract' with government workers is in dire shape! --Robert Cumming

The hat leaves no doubt as to this man's loyalties. Vince Konsavage of Cumberland County, KY waited outside the V.P. Henry Auditorium at Lindsey Wilson College to be among the first to greet Gov. Matt Bevin on his stop in Columbia Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Konsavage said he first met Bevin when he campaigned for senate and remembered him coming to Burkesville in a 15 passenger van with his wife and all their children. He said, "He's a good friend who just happens to be governor."
