Thomas Downey, native of Adair County, KY

He was a truck driver and member of a large, well-known Adair County family. He was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Downey; four brothers, Hollis, Kenneth "Buck", Coy and Arlin Downey; and two great-grandchildren.

Thomas Downey, of Columbia, died Monday, March 11, 2019.

At his request, there will be no public visitation nor funeral service. All services will be held privately for the family.



He was born in Adair County to the late Marvin & Thirsie Keltner Downey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Downey, four brothers, Hollis, Kenneth "Buck", Coy & Arlin Downey, and two great-grandchildren. He was a truck driver.

Survivors Include:

His Wife - Beverly Hale Downey of Columbia

Two Sons - Danny Downey (Lisa Kemp) & Chad Downey (Brooke) all of Columbia

One Daughter - Debbie Bryant (Terry) of Columbia

One Brother - Jimmie Downey of Columbia

Five Sisters - Evon Legg, Brenda Hatcher and Geneva Holmes all of Columbia, Deana Stone of Tuscola, IL & Zenith Hatcher of Hume, IL

Four Grandchildren & Six Great-Grandchildren also survive

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
