Heart Of Adair Update This article first appeared in issue 22, and was written by Linda Waggener. Heart of Adair met recently to review projects in the works. Among topics discussed: *Welcomed Brickworks, a branch of Standing Room Only Productions, to downtown Columbia. They are located in the Barbee building beside Stotts Phelps McQueary Funeral Home on Greensburg Street. Their first function, a chili supper fund raiser reportedly brought them good results. They are available for special events. *Congratulated the newly elected officials. Affirmed to continue working toward improving our town and county with each of them. *Applauded the Chamber of Commerce in their purchase of the downtown building across from the Columbia United Methodist Church. *Confirmed Nathan Hale as the best overall downtown flower bed manager of the summer. His flower bed was an inspiration to passers by of his Mana Shoe store on the Square. *Heard a progress update on mural goals. Drawings of ideas are in the works. Materials have been selected.
