ACHS Women's Choir singing Sunday, Rupp Arena!

Adair County High School will be represented in the Sweet Sixteen Tournament, but not for basketball - the Women's Choir has been chosen for the honor to sing The National Anthem. And they have been invited to participate in a December event at Disney World - two major accomplishments!

Extraordinary voices, floating through unique, difficult harmonies, filled the classroom as the ACHS Women's Choir demonstrated The National Anthem they're invited to sing at the Sweet Sixteen Boys Basketball Tournament Sunday in Lexington.

Sunday, March 10, 2019 the Adair County High School women's ensemble, under the director of Mrs. Ginna Marsh Franklin, will sing The National Anthem - a major accomplishment for the school and the music program.

Franklin said she had her students make a recording and felt they were ready so she submitted it. Among all the entries, and there were many, ACHS won top spot.

Right after this exciting event is completed, the students have yet another incredible honor to celebrate - and begin raising travel funds for - they are invited to sing December 4, 2019 at Walt Disney World's Epcot Center in the Candlelight Processional and Massed Choir Program!

The "Drive for ur School" fundraiser will be held at ACHS on Friday, March 22, 2019 in the lower teacher's parking lot from 10am-6pm. Franklin Ford will give $20 to the choir for each car driven during those hours.

Students in the Women's Choir are: Emma Grider, Raven Yike, Amie Padgette, Autumn Reynolds, Cheyan Walters, Aeriyal Anderson, Madison Coomer, Kristina Kirksey, Emma Rich, Ellie Belcher, Joaquina Domingo, Kayla Eaton and Faith Berry. The students range from freshmen to junior grades so the experience they are gaining will be represented well into the future at ACHS.
