Frankfort man charged for beef theft

By Zack McDonald, The State Journal

A Franklin County man has been arrested after more than $75,000 worth of beef came up missing from a Louisville grocer over the span of several months, police allege.

Billy Wethington, 42, of Frankfort, was arrested Friday in the case. He had been an employee with a Louisville grocer, which was not identified in reports, until management allegedly discovered he'd been stealing thousands of dollars worth of beef tenderloins over about eight months.

Wethington was booked into the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections on a charge of theft by unlawful taking of an amount exceeding $10,000, a Class D felony.
